Tuesday, September 9 – 6:30 p.m. - YWCA Chester County, 123 North Church Street, West Chester, PA. Potluck Supper followed by Presentations from Special Interest Groups and Branch Project Committees.
Tuesday, October 14 – 7 p.m. - Chester County Government Center, Westtown Road, West Chester, PA – Running for Public Office as a Woman… Navigating the Obstacles. A panel of women who are currently running for statewide offices will tell us what difficulties they have had to overcome and how it feels to run a campaign.
Tuesday, November 11 – 7 p.m.- (Tentative Arrangements) Poetry Center of West Chester University, 823 South High Street, West Chester, PA - Women Poets - Learn about the efforts of WCU to sustain an interest in poetry in our community, and hear poetry written by women. Plentiful parking is available behind the building or in the WCU parking garage next to the center. Saturday, December 13, 7 to 10 p.m. – Private Home Holiday Gathering, Come join us with your spouse or friend for wine, hors d’oeuvres and holiday desserts! Final details will be communicated to you through your newsletter and by e-mail.
Tuesday, January 13 – 7 p.m. - Grove United Methodist Church – Ecology and the Environment - What Can One Woman Do? Gwyn Rowland, Montgomery Co. Lands Trust, will educate us about small, personal things we can do to save energy and diminish our negative impact on the environment. Gwyn will talk about the best kinds of "green" products, how to take small steps that can save energy, and other personal steps we can all take along the path to a healthier planet. Gwyn will also save time for your questions about specific products, practices and myths.
Saturday, February 7, 9.a.m. – BRUNCH - YWCA Chester County, 123 N. Church St., West Chester. Young women representatives who attended AAUW’s National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) will inform us of their activities and the training they receive to enable them to become tomorrow’s leaders in all walks of life. Invite a young friend to attend the brunch with you!
Tuesday, March 10 – 7 p.m. - Grove United Methodist Church – The Status of Women Around the World. Speaker Mary Purcell will educate us regarding the status suffered or enjoyed by women all over the world. Mary has been AAUW’s representative to the U.N. for several years and has worked with women’s groups around the world.
Tuesday, April, 14 – 7 p.m. - Grove United Methodist. Church – GSSCC at AAUW WCCC That’s "Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Chester County at the AAUW West Chester-Chester County" for those of you unfamiliar with all those initials! The G&S of Chester County will present a musical evening of selections from favorite Gilbert and Sullivan Operettas with musical accompaniment, and tell us about the society and its long-standing traditions in Chester County.
Tuesday, May 12 – 6 p.m. - End of Year Celebration! – Victoria Wyeth, granddaughter of Andrew Wyeth and great-granddaughter of N.C. Wyeth , will present a program on the recent works of her grandfather, Andrew Wyeth, and her uncle, Jamie Wyeth, from the years 2000 through 2008. Specifics on the location of the restaurant where the celebration will be held will be announced nearer to the date.
